Kyra Baldwin - The Artist
I’m a self-taught artist who has always known that art was my calling. From the moment I could hold a pencil, I was drawing, capturing the world around me one sketch at a time.
Over the years, my creative journey has evolved from simple pencil drawings to exploring the world of painting. I began with watercolor, then experimented with acrylics, but it was oil painting that truly captured my heart. The richness, depth, and emotion that oils allow me to express feel like home to me as an artist.
In addition to painting, I have a deep appreciation for ink drawing and the simplicity and balance that minimalism brings. There’s something timeless about the purity of ink on paper.
Through my work, I hope to share my love of art with others, to inspire creativity, emotion, and connection through every piece I create.
A quick shout-out to the three people who are the very reason I’m doing what I love today.
My mom and my sister have been there since day one always cheering me on (and maybe boosting my ego a little in the process), but also offering honest, constructive feedback that pushes me to grow as an artist. Their encouragement has meant everything to me.
Then my husband came along and became my sounding board. I can always count on him for a genuine opinion about my work, even when it’s not what I want to hear. He’s also been roped into the behind-the-scenes side of things, from helping at art shows to building frames for some of my larger early pieces.
To the three of you — thank you. I couldn’t do this without your love, honesty, and support.
